John Locus has been the man behind the camera at John Locus Photography in Collinsville, Illinois since 1975. His wife, Marsha, joined the business in 1985. After 40 years of portrait work, John and Marsha bring you locusphotoart.com, an online fine art gallery. When the couple leave the studio, they tour the local communities, seeing the beauty in everyday things and bringing it home. They have created this online gallery to share with you their fine art photography and offer it for sale. John also teaches students how to expand their eye of imagination through instructional Photo Safaris.
Awards and Recognition
I started showing my fine art work in 2015. Since then, I’ve had several solo exhibitions, have been included in numerous juried gallery shows, and have participated in more than a dozen Art Fairs. I’ve received Award of Excellence and First Place in Photography at Art in the Park Highland, Best of Photography at Cedarhurst, Best of Show in Wammfest, Best of Photography and 2nd place in Artisan Fair Effingham and many other awards.
